Dr. Fred DeFrancesch, Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Internal Medicine, Spinal Cord Injury and Pain Medicine, has served over 10 years as an Assistant Clinical Professor at both LSU and Tulane Schools of Medicine. During that time he also served as active faculty in the ACGME accredited Pain Fellowship at LSU.
Dr. DeFrancesch has experience in both non-interventional and interventional modalities used in the treatment of pain, including spinal cord stimulation and a wide spectrum of minimally invasive spine procedures.
Dr. DeFrancesch is the founder of NeuroMuscular Medical Associates, a private, multi-specialty group serving southeast Louisiana with locations in Hammond, LaPlace and Metairie. He has also founded a private, twelve month pain fellowship training physicians in advanced techniques, in association with Interventional Spine Specialists, which includes weekly instruction from the esteemed Dr. Charles Aprill.

Dr. Robert Nicholson graduated from LSU School of Medicine, New Orleans and completed his residency in Orthopedics at Tulane University School of Medicine. Following his residency he completed a fellowship in Spinal Surgery, also through Tulane University Medical Center. He has served over 15 years as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedics at LSU School of Medicine as well as Tulane University School of Medicine.
Dr. Nicholson has worked in the private practice setting as well as orthopedic clinics and Sports Medicine Institutes. His extensive experience in spinal surgery and orthopedic medicine has been a valuable addition to our practice since 2019. Dr. Nicholson works primarily in our Baton Rouge and Hammond offices of NeuroMuscular Medical Associates.
Dr. William H. Lee graduated from LSU School of Medicine in2019 and completed his ACGME Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation through LSU New Orleans in June of 2023. He completed his pain fellowship through our practice on June 30,2024 and is currently employed full-time with NMA.
Dr. Lee is treating patients in our Metairie and Hammond offices and is accepting new patients
We would like to introduce the newest member of our team, Dr. Jay Napolitano.
Dr. Jay graduated from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2021 and completed his Family Medicine Residency through LCMC East Jefferson General Hospital, in June of 2024. He is currently serving as a Fellow in the private, twelve-month pain fellowship founded in conjunction with Interventional Spine Specialists.
He will be training in advanced techniques, under the guidance and instruction of Dr. DeFrancesch.
