Dr. Fred DeFrancesch is the founder of Neuromuscular Medical Associates, a private, multispecialty group serving southeast Louisiana with locations in Hammond, Metairie, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. DeFrancesch is Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Internal Medicine, Spinal Cord Injury and Pain Medicine. He has extensive experience in both non-interventional and interventional modalities used in the treatment of pain, including spinal cord stimulation and a wide spectrum of minimally invasive spine procedures.

One of the most challenging diagnostic dilemmas today's physicians face is the patient presenting with neck and back pain. Whether acute or chronic, patient's spinal pain often originates from multiple factors. The various functional aspects facing these patients are addressed with a combination of appropriate medications, physical therapy, and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
NMA provides treatment and rehabilitation programs for pain of the back, neck, shoulder, knee, foot, hand, headaches and sciatica, just to name a few. We perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as epidural injections, spinal nerve injections, sacroiliac joint injections, facet injections, medial branch blocks, trigger point injections, spinal cord stimulation, EMG and nerve conduction studies, again just to name a few. Many of these procedures can be performed in our office or a surgery center, without the need to visit a hospital.
